Join the ANU Fenner School of Environment and Society’s annual briefing on the condition of Australia’s natural resources and ecosystems. This year, ANU and the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) have partnered to provide an overview of 2017 that covers both the terrestrial and marine environments.
The briefing will summarise climate, water, fire and marine events and changes during the year, as well as land-cover change, vegetation condition, biodiversity and the landscape carbon balance. We draw on the most recent observations on the ground, at sea and from satellites.
We will discuss key events as well as general patterns, and summarise them into an environmental scorecard for each state and territory. The report will also be released online along with a data explorer.
Australia’s Environment in 2017 is produced by ANU and IMOS, with support from the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network, National Computational Infrastructure, the Atlas of Living Australia, Bureau of Meteorology, CSIRO, Geoscience Australia, NASA, and others.
