Fostering a research community culture: catalysing collaboration between universities, agencies and decision makers
The complexity and infrastructure demands of climate and water research have outgrown the capacity of any single organisation. More than ever, a community approach is needed. The 3rd national workshop of The Australian Energy and Water Exchange Research Initiative (OzEWEX) will examine the networks, transdisciplinary collaboration and infrastructure needed to meet future challenges.
The workshop will be held at the Australian National University in Canberra, ACT, on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 December 2015. The format will focus on thought-provoking invited presentations and discussion, and the development of new community initiatives. Sessions are organised around the following topics:
- Observation networks and enhancing data sharing
- Community modelling and data assimilation systems
- Collaborative research to address Australia’s climate and water challenges
- Towards unified and diversified streamflow prediction – connecting research, operations and decision making
Participation is free, thanks to generous support from our sponsors. Registration is required however.
Open software and data services training sessions are planned around the workshop. Further details will be announced soon.
Call for Presentations / Posters
You are invited to present your research or views at the workshop through an oral or poster presentation. Oral presentations should aim to contribute to a nominated session topic and be designed to encourage discussion. Posters are welcome on any topic relevant to OzEWEX, including research findings. Student posters will be in contention for a $500 poster award sponsored by the Modelling and Simulation Society of Australia and New Zealand (MSSANZ).
Call for Project Proposals
New this year, we are soliciting proposals for collaborative projects. Brief project proposals are to be presented and discussed at the workshop. A small number of projects will be taken forward and assisted in obtaining the requested resources. More information can be found here.
25 November 2016 is the deadline for all submissions. Follow the submission guidelines and submission upload tabs to submit.
