The numbers are in, 2020 was Australia’s 4th warmest year on record, 1.15 °C above average.

For Australia as a whole, annual rainfall was 4% above average at 483.4 mm.

Why not start the new year with some new science?
We looked at the different weather systems that bring rainfall, and found the declining cool season rainfall in southeast Aus since 1997 is linked to a decline in rain from lows and fronts.
